What information we collect and why
Newsletter signup When you subscribe to our newsletter we collect your name and email address. We use this to send you news, updates and information about our work and products. The lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send you.
Purchase data (paleblueperspective.com only) When you make a purchase we collect your name, delivery address, email address and payment information. We use this to fulfil your order and communicate with you about it. The lawful basis is the performance of a contract. Payment details are handled securely by Stripe and PayPal — we do not store your card details.
Contact enquiries If you contact us by email we hold that correspondence to respond to you. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
Website analytics Our websites use Squarespace Analytics, which collects anonymised data about how visitors interact with our sites — pages visited, time spent, and general location. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how our sites are used.

Who we share your data with
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We work with the following trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:
Squarespace — website hosting, store management and analytics (both sites)
Mailchimp — email newsletter management (paleblueperspective.com). Mailchimp transfers data to the United States. This is covered by their certification under the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses incorporated into their Data Processing Addendum. Stripe — payment processing (paleblueperspective.com)
PayPal — payment processing (paleblueperspective.com)
EFCL UK (Ecommerce Fulfilment Centre Ltd) — fulfilment and distribution of physical card decks (paleblueperspective.com). Your name and delivery address are shared with EFCL solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order. EFCL is registered under the UK Fulfilment House Due Diligence Scheme (FHDDS). A data processing agreement is in place between Pale Blue Communications Ltd and EFCL
Mighty Networks — community platform. You will be directed here from paleblueperspective.com to create your own account. Mighty Networks operates its own privacy policy once you are on their platform
How long we keep your data
Newsletter subscriber data is held until you unsubscribe, at which point it is removed from our active list.
Purchase and transaction data is retained for six years in line with standard UK legal and accounting requirements.
Contact enquiry data is held for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to and resolve your enquiry.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
Erasure — ask us to delete your data where we are not legally required to retain it
Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
